Diljit Dosanjh Biography

Introduction –

Diljit Dosanjh is a famous Punjabi singer, songwriter, television presenter, actor and producer in Punjabi and Bollywood industry. He is a well-known leading artist in the Punjabi music industry.

Early Life –

Diljit was born on 06 January 1984 in Dosanjh Kalan, Jalandhar, Punjab in a Sikh family. He studied till High school diploma completed his schooling at Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Ludhiana. His father’s name is Balbir Singh, a former employee of Punjab Roadways and his mother’s name is Sukhwinder Kaur, a homemaker. Diljit has two siblings, one elder sister and one younger brother. He spent his early childhood in Dosanjh Kalan and moved to Ludhiana, Punjab later. During school days, he began singing Sikh music and performing Kiratans at local Gurdwaras. He was always fascinated towards theatres, acting and Punjabi folk music.

Personal Life –

Diljit Dosanjh is married to Sandeep Kaur. Both are blessed with a son. His wife and son both live in the USA.

Career Life –

His first album Ishq Da Uda Ada was released in 2004 on T-Series and next album Ishq Ho Gaya was released in 2006 by Finetone Cassettes. Diljit made debut in Punjabi film in 2011 and made a film The Lion of Punjab. Later he released a song album Lak 28 Kudi Da which became a famous song and he got a major success for his career.

In Bollywood, his movie Udta Punjab was released which made a worldwide collection of Rs. 996 million and became a major success in collections.

Controversies –

Bollywood film Udta Punjab has some negative parts of Diljit which made it difficult before release. After cut the more negative scenes from the movie, Bombay High court had given permission to release it in theatres.

The Income Tax Department raided his residence as some default was found but later Diljit clarified all the matters in 2012.

Diljit and Kangana Ranaut word war was on trend on Twitter few months back. Kangana commented on Shaheen Bagh Protester Bilkis Bano and she claimed that she can be hired in 100 rupees in Kissan Protest (Farmer). Diljit took a class of Kangana on Twitter and some famous actors also involved in it.
